Certificates of Deposit

Minimum Opening Deposit: $1000

With Certificates of Deposit, you enjoy a guaranteed fixed interest rate for various terms from three to 60 months.

  • Interest is paid or compounded quarterly
  • Interest is earned on the ledger balance
  • For CDs of $5,000 or more, you may choose to have your interest credited monthly to a St. Johns Bank checking or savings account
  • For CDs of $10,000 or more, you may choose to receive your interest monthly by check
  • CDs are automatically renewable
  • As with most CDs, there is a substantial penalty for early withdrawal
  • Minimum balance of $1,000 required to obtain the advertised APY

Individual Retirement Accounts

Minimum Opening Deposit: $250

A Traditional IRA is a special tax-deferred account used to save for retirement. In addition, tax deductions are available for certain individuals. A Roth IRA is an account for post-tax dollars. Earnings are tax-deferred and certain distributions are tax-free.

  • Interest is earned on the ledger balance
  • Interest is compounded quarterly
  • For a Fixed Rate IRA:
    • 12- to 60-month terms are available
    • No additional deposits are allowed
  • For a Variable Rate IRA:
    • Additional deposits are allowed, in minimum amounts of $100
    • 12-month Variable IRA CD rate is equal to the 18-month fixed rate CD and changes accordingly
  • IRA certificates are automatically renewable
  • As with most IRA certificates, there may be a substantial penalty for early withdrawal
  • Minimum balance of $250 required to obtain the advertised APY

With a Money Market Account, you can enjoy tiered interest rates with the convenience of limited check writing.

  • Unlimited deposits and cash withdrawals (in person or at an ATM)
  • $10 fee if daily balance falls below $1,000 during monthly statement cycle
  • Overdraft Privilege limit of $700

  • Just a $200 minimum daily balance required to avoid a monthly fee of $3
  • Statements are mailed quarterly, fees assessed monthly

  • Deposits only by automatic transfer (AFT) from a St. Johns Bank account
  • Minimum $10 deposit per designated AFT period
  • Interest is earned on the ledger balance
  • Interest is paid and compounded annually
  • $5 penalty for early closure
  • If account is closed before interest is credited, the accrued interest is forfeited
  • Account balance will be transferred into the funding account at the end of October, ready for Christmas shopping!

Health Savings Account (HSA)

Minimum Opening Deposit:  $100

A Health Savings Account (HSA)** is an account established exclusively for the purpose of paying qualified medical expenses of the HSA owner, the HSA owner's spouse, and dependents (even if they are not covered by HDHP). Contributions are generally tax deductible and earnings are tax deferred. Distributions are tax free if used for qualified medical expenses. 

  • $100 minimum opening deposit
  • $25 Annual Fee (assessed on the anniversary date each year)
  • Interest is paid and compounded quarterly
  • Six free transfers allowed per 4-week period
  • Unlimited withdrawals in person.
